1st of December – “World AIDS Day”

1st of December – “World AIDS Day”

It has been 30 years since the first case of HIV was diagnosed in 1981. Since that time, many efforts have been made to diminish and end this epidemic of HIV/AIDS, which has already ended millions of lives throughout the world. Every 1st of December we commemorate the “WORLD AIDS DAY to remember those who have died and to spotlight the advances and new challenges of this virus.

AMAR invites you to be a part of the activities planned for this day:
  1. Collecting funds: for the benefit of our children’s department, DULCE REFUGIO, that assists children affected as well as infected with HIV/AIDS. This will take place from 8:30 am until 12 noon in and around Asuncion with the help of young people (18 years and older) placed in strategic locations such as stop lights, parks, and other public entities. The meeting place will be at the Plaza de los Heroes at 8:00 am.

  2. Exposition and handing out pamphlets: this will take place in the annual event planned by PRONASIDA (the National Program of the fight against AIDS), where many other organizations involved in this area participate. This will be held at the Plaza de los Heroes from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm.

  3. Special Meeting: We want to thank God for helping us until now and pray for the challenges that we continue to face with this epidemic. This meeting will take place in the AMAR building from 2:00 – 3:00 pm.

We inform you about these activities in the hope that you will participate with us throughout this day. It is time to unite our efforts and to take action in order to bring about change in our country. Your presence and collaboration will help strengthen this Ministry that helps thousands of children and adults infected with HIV/AIDS daily.

You can confirm your participation in any of these events or find out more by calling us at 290-076, from Monday to Friday from 8:00-3:00 pm. The AMAR family will be grateful to you for joining us and being part of the solution. If you are unable to attend or participate in these activities, prayer is also greatly appreciated.
