Support group meeting testimony

Support group meeting testimony

My name is Estela*, a PLWA (person living with AIDS) and it has been 5 years now that I have been living with this sickness. After my husband died (he had AIDS as well), I began to go to Alto Refugio, and every single Tuesday I participated in the support group meeting. It was there that I found the support and strength I needed to continue living and caring for my 2 children. In these meetings I learn many things, and the most important part is that I find people that listen to me and can give me advice. After the meetings I feel happy and with peace after being able to spend time with other people that are going through my same situation. I am very thankful to AMAR for opening up their doors and giving this kind of help. If you have HIV, I encourage you to participate in the support group meetings. Don’t be afraid or shy, because here you will find people that are prepared and willing to accept and understand you. It is very good for me and I know it will be good for you too.
